HEROINES OF THE SPECIAL OPERATIONS EXECUTIVE – ELIZABETH LORRAINE COPELAND née ADIE DSC

 

Adie was born in Scotland

And she worked for the SOE

She met her American husband

OSS agent Miles Copeland, Jr

While working for intelligence

They married in September 1942

Then they went to the Near East,

Syria, Lebanon and Egypt,

And it was whilst they were there

She fell in love with archaeology

Which would become her career

For her work in counterintelligence

She was Mentioned in Despatches

And received a Distinguished Service Cross

Lorraine died at Chateau Marouatte

In Dordogne, France, on 27^th April 2013
