HEROINES OF THE SPECIAL OPERATIONS EXECUTIVE – MADELEINE LAVIGNE née REJEUNY

 

Madeleine was born in France

But served as an agent for the SOE

And she parachuted into France

In May 1944 and moved north

To Reims in order to work

As a wireless operator and courier

For the Silversmith network

When the network was compromised

She had to hide out in a safe house

Until the Americans liberated Reims

And her mission with SOE was over

Tragically on February 25^th, 1945

She died of an embolism in Paris
